Appearing in Northampton County Court, Stuart Stevens successfully defended his client in a 3 day multi track contractual dispute brought for damages and interest worth over £145,000.00.
The dispute centred around two company directors and their business dealings with multiple other parties set against the backdrop of an alleged £10million+ fraud and tortious conspiracy case. Mr. Stevens’ case involved numerous complex issues including allegations of corporation tax and VAT fraud, the laws of agency, director’s liability in company disputes, director guarantees, the defence of illegality, oral misrepresentations and misstatements, director’s special contractual relationships and Statute of Frauds arguments.
After lengthy cross examination of the claimant companies director, Mr. Stevens was able to make a successful application of no case to answer precluding the need for his client to give evidence and resulting in the case against him being dismissed. |
