Erimus Chambers provide barristers who deal with Criminal, Family and Civil law. We also have specialist barristers who undertake work in Employment Law, Immigration, Insolvency and Prison Law. Counsel have regularly appeared in the Magistrate, Youth, Crown, County Courts and Employment Tribunals across the country, including London courts and The South East. We cover Criminal matters, both for the prosecution and defence, in the Magistrates Courts and the Crown Courts. Our barristers have a wealth of experience in cases ranging from minor road traffic matters to serious sexual assault.

With Family Law we undertake work concerning finance (ancillary relief) and divorce, child cases including contact and residence, child abduction and care.

We can help with most civil matters including personal injury, landlord and tenant, road traffic, contracts, debt disputes, infant settlements, small claims trial, Fast Track Trials, Multitrack Trials and mortgage repossession cases.

Our barristers have expertise in Employment Law covering unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, wrongful dismissal, sex discrimination, race discrimination, disability discrimination, redundancy, restrictive covenants and TUPE. Our barristers act on behalf of both Respondents and Claimants. We can also advise on and defend status enquiries into the employment status of persons by the Inland Revenue.

 We cover personal and corporate insolvency matters and have extensive experience of Company Director Disqualification proceedings. Our barristers are happy to advise and act at all stages of proceedings.

Our barristers have acted for the Treasury Solicitor’s Department in numerous cases involving physical and psychiatric injuries suffered by prisoners and prison employees, unlawful detention and other prison related matters both in an advisory capacity and at trial.

Please see the direct access page for further information about direct access fees. Our barristers accept instructions from professional clients whether it be funded by legal aid or privately. Fee rates/quotes for Private instruction can be provided upon request however, this will depend upon various factors including seniority of the barrister, nature of your case, time estimate of your case, amount of pages of evidence and location of your case. Generally quotes provided would include a brief fee, refreshers/daily attendance fees where your matter proceeds to a trial, and a set fee per hearing. Individual arrangements can be agreed in advance of instruction if required such as an hourly rate or a fixed, all inclusive fee.

The time your case takes to resolve may depend upon various factors such as court availability to list your case, the service of evidence provided by the other side involved in your case, counsel’s other professional commitments, the need to obtain further information and also intervening third parties. Time limits for work to be completed by counsel can be agreed upon instruction between you and your instructed barrister.
